KNOX CAPITAL ANNOUNCES DON PENLAND AS OPERATING PARTNER TO LEAD MSP BUY-AND-BUILD STRATEGY

CHICAGO, IL — Knox Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm focused on tech-enabled services and long-term value creation, today announced the appointment of Don Penland as Operating and Industry Partner. In this role, Don will lead Knox’s IT Managed Services Provider (MSP&MSSP) buy-and-build strategy and support portfolio company growth initiatives.

Penland brings more than 20 years of operating and leadership experience across managed services, outsourced IT, and professional technology services. He has led and scaled private equity sponsored MSP and MSSP platforms through multiple stages of growth, leading initiatives across go-to-market strategy, commercial execution, operational integration, and mergers and acquisitions. His background includes sourcing, executing, and integrating more than a dozen acquisitions, as well as partnering closely with owners and founders to drive growth while preserving culture, client relationships, and long-term value.

At Knox, Penland will work alongside business owners and leadership teams from initial diligence through post-close execution and operations. His focus will include platform design, go-to-market strategy, talent and leadership development, and the integration of strategic add-on acquisitions.
